Motor vehicle access to Martineau Gardens changed in February 2019. The newly opened blue cycle route means there are restrictions on Priory Road for traffic travelling on the Bristol Road (A38), follow diversionary signs.

Opened in June 2019, is a 4km  cycleway along the A38 (Bristol Road) links Selly Oak and the University of Birmingham with the city centre.

Access from A441 (Pershore Road) and B4217 (Priory Road) to Martineau Gardens is not  affected; bus services stay the same. There is a new pedestrian crossing at the Priory Road/Bristol Road junction.

Diversion route to Martineau Gardens on A38 (Bristol Road)

From city: cars turn right at Wellington Road and follow signs

From Selly Oak: cars turn right at Pebble Mill Road, Left at Pershore and left at the Pershore /Priory Junction and follow signs
