We need to grow our Visitor Welcome Team volunteers … can you help?
Our Visitor Welcome Team Volunteers contribute so much to Martineau Gardens, providing a warm welcome to visitors.
The purpose of the role is to welcome visitors to the Gardens and deal with any reasonable needs or enquiries they have. This includes ensuring that the Gardens and buildings that the public use are welcoming to visitors; keeping up to date with news and changes at the Gardens; serving drinks; washing up; selling plants and produce and offering ‘Become a Friend’ leaflets and information on any events or activities.

Free time on Saturdays? We need you!
Could you spare a half-day on a Saturday to welcome visitors to the Gardens? You need excellent social skills and to be very reliable. You should be able to sell plants and produce, make visitors welcome, make drinks and keep everything clean and tidy. On Saturdays there are no staff, but there will always be two volunteers on site – between you, you should be able to carry bags of logs to load into customers cars, in addition to the daily jobs mentioned above. Saturday volunteers will be asked to undergo a Disclosure and barring Service check. Contact Gill on 0121 440 7430.
