Martineau Gardens can be hired as a venue for special events. Please download and complete a booking form. The following information includes details of the venue hire. Venue Hire on site includes:
We ask for a £100 deposit to set against any damage or cleaning up. Cancellations: The trustees reserve the right to refuse any booking and cancel the booking, in exceptional circumstances, with 24 hours notice. If this happens, your deposit will be returned. If you cancel the booking with less than 7 days notice, you will be charged £25. The Environment: Our policy is make activities at the Gardens as sustainable as possible. This is why we request that you do not use plastic plates, cups and cutlery. You are required to clean up and take away your rubbish. Clean paper, clean aluminium and clean glass go into the recycling containers in the Pavilion Room. Please be considerate of the wildlife and our neighbours. You can have acoustic but not amplified music in the gardens (until 10pm). Bonfires are possible (but no fireworks) if arranged in advance, with very strict fire precautions and a person qualified in first aid present. Health and Safety: The Gardens are reasonably safe, but not free of hazards. Parents are expected to take full responsibility for the safety of their children. Children and adults must be discouraged from running as it is not safe for them or the Gardens. The Pavilion Room seats about 15 people. You can fit more in if people are standing but consider how you would get them out quickly. Fire exits are clearly marked; please keep them clear of obstructions at all times. Use of the Kitchen: Our kitchen is not suitable for food preparation, but you can serve pre-prepared food using our crockery, cutlery, kettle, urn, fridge, microwave and Baby Belling cooker. We provide clean towels, washing up liquid etc. You are expected to clean up afterwards. We provide cleaning materials and equipment |
